Tooth Talk Gratitude List 2018 Focuses on People Power

At Brushing Is Fun, Start by Age 1, Thanks-giving is an action word. So, we are stepping up and high-fiving all the good work this year.

We are thankful that...

# 1 Tooth decay is preventable–and fluoride does it best for young children. Fluoride can be found in toothpaste in child-friendly flavors, safe and healthy fluoride varnish for little teeth, and fluoridated water.

# 2 In NC communities with EHS programs, medical and dental professionals are providing oral preventive care to young       children:  80% of children in those communities receive oral preventive care during the first three years of life. Nationally, less than 10% of children younger than 3 years of age have a dental visit

# 3 More childcare classrooms are brushing very young children’s teeth with fluoride toothpaste. Preventing tooth decay helps ensure small children can eat, grow, talk, smile, learn, and reach developmental milestones.

# 4 You are oral health champions. You are dedicated to caring for little kids’ teeth and sharing oral health messages                    with parents

# 5 More of our partners are recognizing the importance of good oral health. Childcare health consultants, nonprofits, primary care providers, and other organizations are making oral health an important component of their programs.

Thank you. Whether it is staying up-to-date on the latest, greatest teeth tips for children by visiting the ToothTalk website, sharing even one good idea with a parent in need of support, or brushing a child’s (and your own!) teeth, we see and appreciate your efforts for children.

Happy Thanksgiving!
