Picture this: smiling children without the pain of tooth decay. That’s something we all want to see. That’s exactly what the American Academy of Pediatrics did...Because life is better with teeth! The AAP simplified toothbrushing for busy parents with two new tools that use simple cartoons to deliver the message about how to brush children’s teeth. Colorful, cheerful, and with upbeat music in the video, the language-free format is easy-to-understand by parents of any culture and nationality, and perfect for children and families with limited English.
“When it comes to brushing a young child’s teeth, keeping it fun and simple is key! I love the new graphic and 30-second video published by the American Academy of Pediatrics because it does just that,” said Emily Horney, RDH, Early Childhood Oral Health Coordinator in the Division of Public Health Oral Health Section of the NC Department of Health and Human Services. “These new tools are a great resource for helping families prevent tooth decay before it starts by demonstrating the correct amounts of fluoride toothpaste to use as well as brushing techniques for morning and night.”
